Budapest 2023 belonged to adidas athletes. Noah Lyles swept the 100m, 200m and relay; Marileidy Paulino won her first global title over 400m in a 48.76 national record; and Ethiopia, dressed by adidas, went one-two in the women's marathon through Amane Beriso and Gotytom Gebreslase. That September adidas released the 138-gram Adizero Adios Pro Evo 1 — ten days later Tigst Assefa broke the marathon world record in Berlin wearing it.

A racing crop top is the fitted, midriff-length upper half of the women's track kit, worn with briefs, shorts or half tights. It is official outerwear, not underwear: it carries the federation crest, follows World Athletics uniform rules, and takes the bib pinned to its front.
The two-piece crop kit broke through with Flo-Jo's 1988 season, became the sprint norm through the 1990s, and today anchors a kit system of twenty-plus combinations. The crop is the most-picked module in that matrix — and the piece most often confused with what it is not.
