2025 was adidas's marathon year: seven World Marathon Majors titles, most of them run in the 138-gram Adizero Adios Pro Evo 2, including an all-adidas men's podium in New York. On the track in Tokyo, Noah Lyles won a fourth straight world 200m title in 19.52 — matching Usain Bolt as the only man to do it — and Marileidy Paulino ran 47.98 for 400m silver in the fastest final in championship history.

Racing shorts are lightweight split-seam shorts built for track and road racing: a woven shell of roughly 64–92 grams, a built-in brief liner instead of underwear, and an open outer seam that frees the leg at full stride.

The split itself has a birthday. British marathoner Ron Hill tore his side seams open in frustration, won the 1970 Boston Marathon, and founded Ronhill that September to sell the fix. Every race-issued pair in this archive descends from that pair of scissors.
