FC BARCELONA
ATHLETICS
A football giant's century-old athletics section — today home to the women's triple jump world record and the third-longest men's jump in history. Two of its athlete-issued pieces live in this archive.
FC Barcelona's athletics section, founded in 1915, is one of Spain's most decorated club programmes — and its current roster owns both ends of the triple jump: Yulimar Rojas, world record holder at 15.74 m, and Jordan Díaz, 18.18 m in Rome in 2024.
Nike has dressed the club since 1998 under a deal renewed through 2038, and the archive holds two athlete-issued pieces of the section's kit: a 2022 distance singlet, already sold out, and a 2025 women's crop in the club's red, blue and gold.
This is Club Series No. 03, part of the Nike Pro Elite Clubs Sponsored line. Jump to the club pieces in the archive, or read the sibling chapters linked below.

A century of blaugrana on the track
Before the football club became a state of mind, FC Barcelona was already running. The club's athletics section was formally created in 1915 — with track activity documented back to 1900 — and it has spent a century as one of the strongest club programmes in Spain: fifteen men's national outdoor club titles between 1958 and 1986, nineteen indoor titles between 1982 and 2022, and first women's titles outdoors (2021) and indoors (2017).
It trains between the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper and the Joan Serrahima stadium on Montjuïc, and its vest has been worn by Spanish athletics royalty — José Manuel Abascal, Javier García Chico, Antonio Corgos — long before its current era.
This chapter hangs off our Clubs Sponsored line hub, alongside the Oregon Project, Aeronautica Militare and CA Montreuil 93.
The triple jump era
The current era has a shape, and it is a triangle drawn in sand. The tape above holds it: FC Barcelona's roster today owns the women's triple jump world record and the third-longest men's jump ever recorded.
Yulimar Rojas joined in November 2016 and became the greatest women's triple jumper there has been: world record holder at 15.74 m, with the championship titles she won for Venezuela — in federation kit, told in her country's story — stacked behind it. An Achilles rupture took away two full seasons; she came back in 2025 to 14.76 in the Tokyo final, and in March 2025 the club renewed her through the end of 2026.
Jordan Díaz arrived from the Cuban system and, in 2024, delivered the club a season for the ages: 18.18 m in Rome — the third-longest jump in history — and 17.86 in Paris, both won for Spain in federation kit. He trains with Iván Pedroso and jumps in blaugrana.
The kit: a football crest on a start line
The kit follows the club. Nike has dressed FC Barcelona since 1998, and in December 2024 the members' assembly ratified a renewal through 2038 — a deal that keeps the technical apparel of the club, sections included, under the swoosh. What that looks like on a track is in the archive: a 2022 distance singlet and a 2025 women's crop, both in the red-blue-gold the football shirts made famous, both athlete issue rather than shop stock.

The garments are the citable evidence of how it lands on the team.
The section in 2026
A century in, the section's present tense is unusually bright: the two best triple jumpers in club history are both under its crest right now, one holding the world record and the other the third-longest jump ever. What the roster does next — and whether the club's title count moves again — is a story the record books will write; our job here is the wardrobe.
On that front the arithmetic is simple. Two pieces have surfaced from this club; one already sold through. Football-club athletics kit is made for a roster smaller than a matchday squad, and the blaugrana palette does the rest — nothing else in the athletics archive looks like it.

The Clubs Sponsored Archive
The two FCB pieces live in the Clubs Sponsored line with the kit of three other clubs. Club runs are made for a roster, not a market — the sold-out singlet stays listed as proof.

Nike FCB Pro Elite 2022 Distance SingletSold out · check back soonView Piece →Does FC Barcelona have an athletics team?
Yes — and it is over a century old. The athletics section was formally created in 1915 and has won 15 men's national outdoor club titles, 19 indoor titles, and its first women's titles in 2017 and 2021. It trains at the Joan Gamper sports city and the Joan Serrahima stadium in Barcelona.
Which famous athletes compete for FC Barcelona athletics?
The current headline pair are the triple jumpers Yulimar Rojas — world record holder at 15.74 m, renewed with the club through 2026 — and Jordan Díaz, 17.86 m in Paris in 2024 and 18.18 m in Rome, the third-longest jump in history. Their championship titles were won for Venezuela and Spain, in federation kit.
Is Yulimar Rojas still competing?
Yes. After losing two full seasons to an Achilles tendon rupture, she returned in 2025 and jumped 14.76 m in the Tokyo final. Her 15.74 m world record still stands, and FC Barcelona renewed her contract through the end of 2026.
Who makes FC Barcelona's athletics kit?
Nike has dressed FC Barcelona since 1998, and in December 2024 the club's assembly ratified a renewal through 2038 covering its technical apparel. The athletics pieces in this archive — a 2022 distance singlet and a 2025 women's crop — are athlete-issued Nike kit in the club's colours.
Why is FC Barcelona athletics kit so rare?
Because it is issued to a small club roster, not sold. Runs are tiny, they are not restocked, and pieces surface only when kit leaves the team channel — of the two pieces in this archive, one has already sold through.
