Asics Pro Elite 2024 is the 2024-season kit of the Asics athlete team — the apparel worn by the professionals the brand sponsored that year, issued in a black-and-red edition and the Safety Yellow of the MetaSpeed Paris launch, and never sold at retail.

The Brand Team's Year
Asics Pro Elite 2024 is kit from the brand's own athlete team — the competition apparel issued to the professionals Asics sponsored through the 2024 season, as distinct from the federation kit Asics makes for national squads. The four pieces in our archive are the two singlets and two women's crop tops of that season, in two colourways: a black-and-red issue, and a phosphorescent yellow that matches the year exactly.
The yellow is not a guess. “Safety Yellow/Black” is the official colourway Asics gave the entire MetaSpeed Paris family for 2024 — the Sky and Edge road shoes unveiled on 28 February and the MD, SP and LD track spikes around them — and in July the brand released its Celebration of Sport apparel collection in the same yellow, pitched as the colour of optimism. The Yellow Edition singlet in this archive is that identity in team-issue cloth. The Red Edition we describe from the garment alone: black and red, half-zip on the crop, same competition cut.
The Season in Two Lanes
The honest way to read the Asics 2024 season is as two stories that split in June. The brand's lane ran the full year: a supershoe launch in February, two marathoners on the US Olympic team by spring, Hall and Bates in Boston in April, a hurdler making the team in June, the yellow collection in July, an Asics House in Paris in August, and MetaSpeed shoes on elite feet in New York in November.

The other lane belonged to Fred Kerley, the franchise sprint signing of February 2023 and the man this kit was built around. He wore it through the first half of 2024 — then, at the New York City Grand Prix on 9 June, he raced in another brand's spikes, and Asics confirmed that the two had parted ways. The Olympic 100 m bronze he won that August, 9.81, came two months after leaving the brand and in the federation kit of USATF; this page will not call it an Asics medal, because it was not one. His path since has run outside federated athletics: a two-year whereabouts ban from August 2025, and a 9.97 to win the 100 m at the Enhanced Games in May 2026.
What the roster delivered in the brand's own colours was quieter and real. Clayton Young — whose training Asics funds — ran 2:09:06 for second at the US Olympic marathon Trials in Orlando in February and made the team; Sara Hall was fifth there at 40, in her eighth Trials, and ran Boston in April alongside Emma Bates, Asics since 2019; CJ Allen ran 47.81 for second at the June Trials at 29. In November four elites raced New York in MetaSpeed Paris, Young among them. Beyond its own team, Asics dressed the whole Japanese delegation for the Games and the Athlete Refugee Team at the Paralympics, and opened an Asics House in Paris for the summer — the quiet, structural kind of presence the brand has preferred since the Onitsuka days, the story the Asics pillar tells in full. What Young and Allen then did in Paris was done in the federation kit of USATF, and belongs to that page, not this one.

Two editions, one season: a black-and-red issue and the phosphorescent Safety Yellow that ties the kit to the MetaSpeed Paris launch and the all-yellow Celebration of Sport collection of July 2024. Shell and lining in 78% polyester with 22% elastane on the crops, straight competition cloth on the singlets, athlete sizing throughout. Asics kit from the brand team surfaces far less often than federation issue — four pieces is a deep holding for a single season.

Why is one edition phosphorescent yellow?
Safety Yellow/Black is the official colourway Asics gave the entire MetaSpeed Paris shoe family for 2024, and its July 2024 Celebration of Sport apparel collection was released in the same yellow. The Yellow Edition kit carries the brand's 2024 identity; the Red Edition we describe simply as the garment it is.
Was Fred Kerley's Paris bronze an Asics medal?
No. Kerley was the Asics franchise sprinter from February 2023 and wore this kit through the first half of 2024, but the brand and the athlete parted ways on 9 June 2024 — two months before he ran 9.81 for bronze in the federation kit of USATF. His later path ran outside federated athletics: a two-year whereabouts ban from August 2025, and an Enhanced Games 100 m win in 2026.

How do I recognise a 2024 Asics athlete-issue piece?
Team-spec cut with no retail equivalent, in either black/red or Safety Yellow/black; the crops run 78% polyester, 22% elastane with a half-zip on the red edition. All four archive pieces are labelled to the 2024 team season.
