The United States left the Tokyo 2025 World Championships with 26 medals — 16 golds, 5 silvers, 5 bronzes — a gold count no American team had reached at these championships, and more than double the total of second-placed Kenya. Plotted on a stadium, eleven of those golds sit on the track and five in the infield.
Three of them belong to one woman. Melissa Jefferson-Wooden won the 100 in a championship-record 10.61, the 200 in 21.68, and anchored the 4×100 to 41.75: the first American woman to do the world sprint double, and only the second woman ever to take all three in one championships, after Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce. Nobody else in Tokyo won three.
Track pants are the over-kit trousers of an issued athletics set — worn on the warm-up track, in the call room and in transit, over the race kit, never in the race. Their defining feature is the exit: ankle zips that let them come off over spikes, standing, in seconds.
The family splits by weather like the jackets they match: lightweight shells, Storm weatherproofs and Therma insulated pairs — every pair in this archive declaring a polyester shell.
