Two Colourways a Season

On did not come to track kit through federations. Its model since August 2020 has been a club of its own, the On Athletics Club, started in Boulder with the coach Dathan Ritzenhein and eight athletes, then extended to Europe in 2022 and to Oceania in 2023. The story of how a Swiss shoe company got there is in our On pillar. This page is about what that club and On's other sponsored runners raced in over the last two seasons — and in particular the women's one-piece suit.

On reset its race kit on 24 April 2025. It redrew the club logo — a circle for the community, curves taken from the track — and released a full racing range for the year: sports bras, tops, singlets, T-shirts, briefs, shorts, tights and speed suits. As in earlier seasons, the athletes wear two colour versions, one reserved for On's individually sponsored athletes and one for members of the On Athletics Clubs. Hellen Obiri was first into the new kit, at the Boston Marathon on 21 April 2025, where she finished second in 2:17:41 behind Sharon Lokedi's course record.

What On has never published is a colour card for those kits. Its release talks about strong colours and stops there. So the colours on this page come from the one place they are written down: the labels of the pieces we hold.

Same Cloth, New Name

We have one women's speedsuit from each season. The 2025 suit is tagged Track Race Speedsuit and coloured Lime / Iron. The 2026 suit is tagged Zero Speedsuit — Zero being the name of On's top racing range — and coloured White / Black, with Swiss Engineering on the label. Put the two labels next to each other and the change is smaller than the names suggest.

The fabric is identical: 71% polyamide and 29% spandex in both years. Both close with a zip at the chest, and both were made in Portugal. What moved is the name and the colour. On issues each season in two colourways, and neither label says which of the two a given suit belongs to, so we will not claim either one for the individual athletes or for the club. What the pair does show is a race suit that On kept on the same cloth for two years while it renamed the line around it.

On's 2026, Race by Race

The 2026 season went in two directions at once. On the roads, Obiri ran the London Marathon for the first time on 26 April and finished second in 2:15:53, a personal best, behind Tigst Assefa — six months after she had won New York for a second time in 2:19:51, a course record that stood since 2003. On the track, the miler Yared Nuguse was second at the Prefontaine Classic in 3:46.61 on 4 July and second again in London on 18 July, in 3:45.69, the night Josh Kerr ran 3:42.66 for a mile world record; Robert Farken was fourth in that race in 3:46.82, a German record.

The women's wins came late. At Weltklasse Zurich on 27 August, the Italian Ludovica Cavalli of OAC Europe won the 1500 m in 4:03.27, and in the steeplechase Doris Lemngole, racing in On kit, was second in 8:55.94, twelve hundredths behind Faith Cherotich. Cavalli won in a crop top and briefs, not a one-piece. In On's range the speedsuit is the option, not the default — one reason so few of them reach the second-hand market.

One contract is new. In February 2026 On signed the Italian athletics federation, FIDAL, as its technical sponsor — the first major athletics federation we know of that On has dressed. That kit belongs to Italy and to our country pages; at a Diamond League meeting such as Zurich, an athlete like Cavalli races in On's own kit.

The Two Suits in the Archive

Both suits are size XS and new with their tags. The 2025 suit: Lime / Iron, tag name Track Race Speedsuit, 71% polyamide and 29% spandex, aerodynamic fit, zip at the chest, made in Portugal. The 2026 suit: White / Black, tag name Zero Speedsuit, the same blend and the same chest zip, made in Portugal, with Swiss Engineering on the label. Women's race suits are the rarest On pieces we see.
