Seven Majors, One Circuit
Some seasons belong to a championship; 2025 belonged to the roads. Adidas racing shoes won seven marathon major titles across the year — including both London races, both Berlin races and an all-adidas podium in New York. The circuit board tells it stop by stop.

London, Berlin, New York
The championships of September were raced in federation kit — Lyles in USATF's, Jepchirchir and Assefa in Kenya's and Ethiopia's — and their medals live in our country pages, not here. The finishes that belong to this kit came on the roads.
On the circuit, Sabastian Sawe ran the year's two fastest marathons — London in 2:02:27 and Berlin in 2:02:16 — a warm-up, it turned out, for what he did the following April. Assefa lowered the women-only world record to 2:15:50 in London; Rosemary Wanjiru doubled Berlin; Hawi Feysa took Chicago; and Benson Kipruto led Alexander Mutiso and Albert Korir home in New York — a podium entirely in adidas shoes. At the brand's own Road to Records in April, Agnes Ngetich ran 29:27 — the first women-only sub-30 — taking down the record the late Agnes Tirop had set on the same roads.
